I've been lurking on this site on and off for a while and i'm wondering where people are watching some of the TV shows that are mentioned. ie the Black Donnellys.

Are contributors to this site from Ireland or the UK or further afield? or are people watching online?

(for the record:I currently have Chorus Digital and intend to switch to Sky+ in the near future.)

A lot of people have "cousins" in the U.S. who send them "tapes" through the "mail". These "tapes" arrive surprisingly quickly depending on the speed of our "mail" provider and then we watch them and discuss.

I've an odd feeling that I started this "cousins" thing on boards btw...

You are not allowed to ask for links to tv shows. Shame on you.

Maybe he was refering to tv shows that may be streamed link some of the british (and I'm sure american channels like Show Time do) as opposed to torrent sites.

If its torrents then dont ask here.

Torrents are a file sharing system, they allow people to share their files, whatever they may be, with other users through the use of a centralised 'tracker' which links machines together, so one torrent user may be downloading a tiny piece of a file each from 100 other users then sticking them all together, making it an efficient way to share files quickly through a large number of computers. It can be used for all kinds of legitimate things but most people relate it to illegal sharing of copyright materials, such as TV shows.

Also, having a cousin copy something onto a VHS tape for you is exactly the same legally as torrenting something, either way you're technically acquiring copyright material illegally, it doesn't matter if it's written onto magnetic tape or encoded onto a hard drive.

Not that I have any problem with such activities when it comes to tv shows, I just find having codes for things that actually have exactly the same meaning is a bit silly.
