    Hi,
Apart from the power side, will it work in Ireland?
My sister in law was about to buy one in Toys R US for US$130, but the guy in the store told her: for use in USA, Mexico, Canada and Latin America only
She was going to power it via a USB connection back in Ireland.
Any thoughts? Also will games bought here work in it?
I've bought games in the US for presents back here a few years ago, and as far as I know they worked here.
    All help welcome!

I bought one for $120 in New York a few weeks ago and it works perfectly. All the games are region free. Just plug it into my step down transformer whenever I charge it. Probably works without but I didn't want to attempt it.

Still wondering if it can be powered straight via USB, which would remove the need for transformer. I have a 3 pin plug for powering an iPOD via USB (ironically the iPOD was bought in US), and I am hoping the same will work for the DS.

You would need a USB to DS thingy.

If you had one then your fine.

Bought a DS in the US last summer - just picked up a mains adapter in game - works fine.
