[Req] Hardwood garden furniture

    It's that time of year again and being the eternal optomist I'm hoping for a long hot summer.

    I've been having a look round for a nice hardwood patio set i.e. Rectangular table and six chairs. Frankly the quality of what I've seen in my local hardware stores (Topline and McMahons) is IMO brutal. The timber is at most two-thirds of the thickness that I would like. And I suspect they would not last for many (more than one) years.

    Can anybody point me in the direction of some good value (rather than just cheap) patio furniture?

    One thing, I have an aversion to folding chairs, so I would much prefer fixed chairs.

    Leinster preferably but I can get them picked up just about anywhere in Ireland.

    me interested too!! going to Argos tomorrow, will have a look

    Homebase have some gorgeous table and chairs too! not alot in timber though, didnt really like the timber garden furniture in fact. but the other styles were lovely.

    Dunnes have a really nice hardwood table and chairs €850, pricey but worth a look

    I've found a few interesting ones on fleabay!

    This one is in FSC Eucalyptus and works out at about €420 delivered. Looks far better quality than I've seen locally.

    Really pushing the boat out this baby normally finishes at about €900 but they don't deliver to Ireland, however I can get a carrier to pick it up and deliver home for about €100, so would end up at €1000! Not bad considering I saw a similar one in a big garden centre near me for €3995 :eek:

    Might just go for it's baby brother if I can convince Mrs. Do-More!
