    Hi Guys,

Looking for you views on this one.

It was suggested to me last night that i change the buy in a Monday night to €250 & €25 Reg.

My current game their is €100 & €20, with the exception of one week when we got 54 runners it just isn't economically viable to keep the game going.

Alot of the old PE died hard players turned up last night to play the €350 Irish open sat at very short notice and they all suggested it to me to up the buy in on a Monday night as their is a market for this sort of game.

I know the SE and the fitz both have good games on Monday nights and alot of players in the €100 price range are currently playing their.

I am thinking about doing this in about a months time.

If there was a market for say 40/50 players i would run with this.

My alternative would be to change my Monday night game to a Sunday afternoon (with the last Sunday of the Month still a deepstack game).

    All feedback is greatly recieved.

    Jp

I like the idea of a regular €100 Sunday afternoon game, it'll be the only dealer dealt game in town, and will surely get good numbers.

I'd say you will get a market for a €250 game on Monday nights with a good structure, a little out of most players weekly budget though (me included), so although you should get numbers, you may lose some of your €100 customers too.

The Fitz went up to €100+100 on Mondays, the SE immediately jumped in with a 100 FO and took a lot of their players. I dont think theres a market for a weekly game that size.

I think a Monday night 250+25 is a great idea...
I think there is a market there for a regular game at this buyin. Alot of people from outside Dublin wont go near the city centre for tournaments midweek but would play in Red Cow. You would draw the higher buyin players from Wicklow, Kildare, Carlow, Meath as well as Dublin

thats an interesting idea all right but you would need to start it at a time where people can come up in time and still be over in time so => the structure has to be tweaked to suit both...
i think the tournament at the moment is fine, its just on a difficult day imo. saturday/sunday afternoons should surely gain big numbers.

Personally I think Monday is a great day...weekends are taken up for a lot of people with other activities and while they may play once in a while they wont go most of the time. Monday has nothing else on (besides Poker obviusly).

I would see more value in a high quality 250 buyin than the 100 that can be a bit of a crapshoot tbh. A 6:30/7pm start would be ideal but that iws just me being selfish!

Difficult to know if it would be work. I think €250 is a bit steep. I think the regular Sunday game would work better.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think there is a big move to more online play and people dont like leaving the house unless its a worthwhile game and this can only happen at the weekends or hols etc. I've no interest in playing live at the moment unless its a big game and my live game as suffer due to this, but I think most people have become far to lazy about live poker. I'm sure with a 250 game on a Friday or even Thursday you would get those numbers, maybe bi-weekly would be better, but than people forget which week its on etc.

I rarely go to the 250 game in the Fitz or 200 game on the SE and I've stop playing the 300 in Drogheda, mostly because of online poker.

    Thanks for all the feedback.

I think the €100 & €20 game on a Monday night is a non runner due to other games in town. So i might in a months time move this to a Sunday afternoon.

With my Monthly deepstack still on the last Sunday of each month.

As for Monday nights i might change it to €60 with either one or 2 rebuys at €60.

    I think i will have a €250 every 2nd week.
