    Hi all,

Girlfriend is playing Camogie and she loves the Jim Doyle hurley, her club keep handing them crap mass produced muck and she has found it uncomfortable to use, wrong weight in her hand etc.

Does anyone know where I can get a Jim Doyle hurley? IS there a contact for this hurley maker?

She prefers a light hurley as she is quite a small player!

    Any other reccomendations for above?

Go raibh maith agat for all your help.

    regards
    etc

    Hi Morpheus,

Where abouts is your Jim Doyle based? Are you sure that it isn't Philip Doyle junior or senior? I'll ask the lads and a couple of contacts in the county board.

I haven't heard of a Jim Doyle and I've seen a lot of hurls. Sometimes there are local hurley makers that provide hurls just for the locality.

What happens with a lot of the county boards is that each hurler is given a voucher for 6-8 hurls that they can take to their preferred hurleymaker.

Either that or your girlfriend can take a Jim Doyle hurl to a hurley maker in the area and tell them that she wants one made exactly like that. Thats what the lads sometimes do with their favourite hurls.

All I could find on a Jim Doyle is a
    Doyle Jim Sports Equipment
River Lodge Unit 3 Hills Ind Est Lucan Dublin
(01)6281933. Doesn't mention anything about manufacturing though

I too think it could be Philip Doyle as I know loads of people who like his sticks; As Rogueish mentioned above most of the major hurl makers has a copying lathe that they can use to make multiple copies of a stick; Where abouts are you based?
