Technikdirekt.de have the Nikon 50mm f1.8 lens for 128 euros including VAT, excluding shipping (€22) which seems very cheap to me, but have it marked as "coming soon" with no availability date.

Anyone know of anywhere else that has it at a similar price?

You get it cheaper at www.warehouseexpress.co.uk

Not sure where you'll beat that price other than the states. I got a friend to get mine from B&H in NYC. I think it worked out about €80 or €90 with the exchange rate over a year ago. Try Ebay for a nearly new one. It's an amazing lens at such a cheap price. Really fast, very acceptably sharp at 1.8, little distortion on horizontals and verticals one the lens is kept parallel to the subject.
The lens is reportedly shaper than its more expensive 1.4 brother. the only major difference being its more plastic and less robust construction. All I can say is to get one if you can!

I should have got one when I was in B&H in february :o

Picked up all my other gear there for half the price of Irish shops.

Sinecurea: Thanks, I'll check out warehouseexpress.

Just ordered it there with a step-up ring to fit some 58mm filters :) Worked out a good deal cheaper than Technikdirekt when delivery is taken into account.

edit: Canceled the order. They emailed me to say its out of stock, AND the postage rate is in fact STG £19.99, not £3.99 as stated on the website.
