so I was looking through PT last night in search of God....

I didn't find divine inspiration but one thing jumped out at me. I have about 9k hands logged in PT for iPoker (which ain't a massive amount I know).

My biggest winning hands are AA and KK which is not suprising. However I was a bit startled to find that AKo is my biggest losing hand by far and has cost me the price of several cases of wine. (yes, I do think like this)

    I don't think I'm overplaying it

Anyone got any good links to articles that would lead to Big Slick redemption for me? Much appreciated and all that

I think ako is my 4th highest winning hand, while I'm only slightly ahead with aks or something bizarre like that.

True but i still have 3 pushs called with an unpaired A or K on the flop from you
1 against me which is fair enough cause i think it was 4 bet pre flop but 2 against standard players that lost

pretty easy fold now, I would actually check that turn alot here, its not a great board for our hand

I would also bet a bit less on the turn, if I did bet

    check turn
one of the main hands you wanted to get value from is now looking to get value from you
also its very hard for a hand you beat to call another barrell, but you might get a call on the river if you check the turn

Well theres a few pointers, first AK will tend to just make top pair, so you need to be careful not to overplay it postflop, in the hand you posted AQ AJ and A8 all beat you, so if you get any action whatsover (bar call call call) you are probably beaten. Secondly in games without much reraising preflop AK isnt really a hand to go to war with, if people are only reraising AA KK and QQ you should fold when reraised normally. A lot of low stakes games play like this.

i think the main problem here is with your turn play as others have said.
specially on that board i think check/calling checking behind is the best option.
i think what HJ is saying about playing AK in tight games applies to all kind of hands post and pre-flop.
basically in very tight games you make much more money from your crappy hands than you do from your good hands.
becuase the games are so tight ppl will not give action on your good hands and when they do you are often beat.

thanks for the article but it's not really that helpful as it's tournament specific and only covers preflop play

HJ, clear and concise as always. You should write a book...

Villain had 9dTd in the above hand and I donked off more chips  (Bandana Boy was right dammit)
