Fold. You could have raised legitimately on the flop but you have to hit one of your 12 outs now and are not getting near the price to do so

I had a feeling the button was going to call as well, as himself and the SB were engaging in quite a lot of banter. I know the pot odds were against a call, but is there a time when maths go out the window and you trust your gut instinct or is there such a thing as gut instinct, will your so called 'gut instinct' or whatever cost you money in the end?

Not sure what you mean. Are you suggesting that your K high is good? Or that the Q hit him and you have 15 outs if you pair your king which still doesn't give you near the odds to call. Do you think he's put you on a draw and is pushing with complete air? I don't think you can throw the maths out the window on this hand unless you have a read from Jesus Christ himself

So as I suspected gut instinct is really bollix and will cost you in the end. For the record I took as long as I could to call before folding the button called both villians showed KJ to hit there straight, and the diamond hit the river. I was thinking afterwards if I had called I would have been massive chip leader, but that's poker.

The RNG would have given a non diamond river if you had called I bet.

See I've been reading a lot of poker books and boards since having lucksacked my way to qualifying for the IO 3 weeks ago and my play has improved a lot (and my bank balance) so before I would have called that, I kind of have to let that side of my game go so as I don't make a bollix out of meself on Friday and turn into a winning player in future, but it was still annoying when it hit.
