I'll be down in Kildare town on Sunday and will need to get to Fairyhouse from there on Monday morning and have no idea of the route. The AARoadwatch route planner is giving a route consisting of coming up threw Newlands Cross and out onto the M50, I would have thought I could approach Fairyhouse from the other side.

MasterK, make sure you leave extra early. I went last year and the traffic was very badly managed. We left on the special Bus áras busses at 12pm, and still managed to miss the first 2 races because of the delays.

I will, I've been stuck in mental traffic the last 2 years.

I would like to suggest the following route.

Take to road to Milltown. At t junction in Milltown take a left and go over the hill of Allen and straight into Killmeague. In Kilmeague you come to a four cross roads - take the road straight ahead towards Prosperous (you haven't got the right of way at this crossroads so be careful). Continue on for 3 miles until you come to cross roads. Go through this cross roads and about a mile up to the end of that road you come to t junction with right turn into Properous village. At the four cross roads in the village (lights at them) take a left and head out that road for about 2/300 yards until you come to a junction to the left. (Turn is quite easy to miss). This road is about 3/4 miles long and takes you onto the Clane- Kilcock road at the end of it. Take a left towards Kilcock but take the immediate right after(signposted for Rathcoffey) . Go through the village of Rathcoffey (careful - few bad bends) and stay on that road until you get to Maynooth. Go straight up the town of Maynooth and head for Dunboyne. At lights in Dunboyne go straight ahead and you should be at N3 in less that five minutes. At this junction take a left and continue on N3 for 1 mile or so and you'll see the juntion for Rathoath/Fairyhouse on the right hand side.

Sounds longwinded but you avoid all the bad traffic.

Cheers Hawker. I'll get the map out later and try to make sense of your directions.

I used the AA route map when travelling up from Wexford and had no problems.

Has anyone experience with Satnav in Eire?

    :)

I'm going on the Tuesday. It will be a quieter day but does anyone think I'll have any problems getting the bus from busaras. Traffic was horrible last year on the Monday. We were half way through and decided to get out and walk.:D
