Finally took a few of the setting sun . Took them from Killiney Hill, and there is a nice Star Trek glow on some of them . Its difficult to captue what was an amazing setting sun .

They're all nice, although I'm not too sure what a Star Trek glow is :)

To be honest though, there are so many sunset/sunrise pictures around (and some of them of truly amazing sunsets) that nice colours, clouds etc. aren't enough to make it stand out from the crowd. I find that its more a matter of trying to use the sunset/rise as an element within a bigger scene ... what that is, is up to you, but maybe some sort of landscape, seascape, silhouette of a city skyline (or something less cliched).

Of course, none of those are rules or what should be done, more suggestions. A while back I got some sunrise pictures with cranes/construction machinery in the foreground ... I'm not saying they're perfect by anymeans, its only an example of the sort of thing I'm talking about

For me, that sunrise shot was better than another sunset one of mine, which lacked much in the way of character or interest, as nice as it may be

Hope that helps some, take it for what its worth.

couldn't help taking a few of the same sky from my window earlier, i'm not too far from killiney so the clouds look a bit the same

Really like your South Dublin night scene with the still water and the chimneys reflected in the water

I like this one - lovely texture on the beach.

Hey I was taking shots down in Ringsend last night too :) Must have been a night for it. None of mine are good enough to put up though.

I like the one with the chimneys on the left. I love those chimneys. I don't know if thats because of their iconic status or just for them though..

Keep practicing and experimenting, as like most things it is the only way to get better -- although sometimes you can feal your going backwards, at least i do ;)
