Maybe this is better suited in TV so mods, feel free to move.

Yesterday, I happened to be travelling to Belfast while Donegal were playing in Limerick. I lost Highland Radio's coverage near Maghera so figured I would get on the net when I got to my destination. I logged onto rte.ie and gaa.ie and guess what? No score updates. By this stage, Donegal's game would have been long finished. Worse again, when I clicked on the results page on rte.ie, I got results from September 2006. Strange how RTE can manage to get live updates from the English Premiership on a Saturday but haven't got a clue with regards to our own sports. The GAA should also be able to provide live updates. I personally found this very annoying and frustrating and think it is a clear indicator of their absolute uselessness and failure to the fans of GAA.

    Rant over.

I think on the GAA site you have to to pick NFL or NHL on the drop down menu when you put the mouse over results. I've fallen for that before! Doh!

RTE! Don't you know they all shut up shop shop for Aertel/Internet at the weekend :)

could be worse, you could have listened to the match on shannonside (obviously not the donegal game) they would have you convinced it was the best game ever while not revealing the score only at certain intervals, choosing to switch from one match to another at the opportne most important and nerve racking time of the game.

I am fully aware of Aertel and they are equally as useless. I didn't have access to it on Sunday, hence my trying the web site.

setanta sports have a kinda live score thing on there website. takes a few minutes for it to update but it aint too bad. the gaa website needs an upgrade badly and they should have live scoring like the bbc have on soccor

I have used Setanta sports through my mobile and they seem quite good, though it's a good while since i used it.

Aertel often just show the half time score in Div.2/3 matches for ages.

Sorry, don't use it on Sundays. Aertel or Radio one to get a full round up. Definitely should have a live link at this stage. Will be very frustrating this Sunday with so many permutations reagading the League to work out.

I actaully sent an email to RTE complaining about this before. The situation arose whereby i was following live updates on the Crossmaglen v St Brigids semi final on the BBC website as no updates were available on either rte.ie or aertel. This is even more remarkable when considering the game was live on TG4 and being coverd by Sunday Sport on Radio 1. IT really wouldnt take mcuh effort to update the score like they do for soccer and laterly cricket.

I received a positive response from a guy in RTE saying that they realized a problem existed with regards to their online coverage of Gaelic Games and the changes are due to be made to the site (in fairness RTE.ie relaunch has been quite successful). GAA was to be central to RTE's sports coverage as is only right for the national broadcaster. At present their TV and Radio coverage is excellent but the online coverage remains very poor. It is particularly frustrating for Irish people living abroad.

I would encourage more people to email their comments on RTE.ie GAA coverage to RTE in order to keep up the pressure.

BBC Website, I'm shocked considering the abysmal coverage the BBCNI give GAA:)

I'll give it a try though.

There's an online survey on the RTÉ page. If enough of us mention it on this they'll probably take notice :D
