I wouldn't say this season's been crap, but it's been too inconsistent for my liking. Eppy 4 was probably one of the best 24's produced in any series, but on the contrast, there's been way to much political mumbo-jumbo power-seeking for my liking. I really couldn't give a damn about someone trying to get rid of a President, who's a weak-ass president in the first place.

There's been a lack of Jack in a lot of episodes of late too. He seems to be constantly given a mission 20 mins away or in CTU getting patched up over something.

The whole Jack's dad thing didn't wash with me either. Like, for 5 seasons we see pretty much damn all of Jack's familia, then BAM, one or two of them're terrorists. It was a bit weak, and it looks like his auld man'll be making a reappearance before the end.

Haven't a Clue makes some good points there but overall I've still enjoyed it. Not as good as season 5 (yet anyway but we'll see how it goes from here to the end), but nowhere near the tripe of season 4.

Apart from the vice-pres trying to start WW III it's gone a bit slack in recent episodes, not the same "woah" factor from the opening episodes. The stuff with Graeme's wife and son was a bit on the boring side and his dad wasn't up to a whole lot either. Logan being back (and then being gone) was something but I would have liked to find out if he knew who he was talking to on the phone all through season 5, and that it was Jack's brother.

Daddy Bauer might have gone to kidnap her and possibly Chase? If is arm has been reattached he might be able to throw a few punches. A dream season 7 for me would be Jack with Chloes help being a total rouge agent after Kim being murdered along with Audrey, a total suicide misson to get even.

Every new 24 season starts with the same promises from the producers: "We're going to totally change things this time;be prepared for a total change of direction".
But it usually turns out to be just the same as every other season. They were at it again before the start of this season but I don't see what they are talking about to be honest. I see no change of direction and I don't expect to see one in the remainder of this show's lifetime (which is surely drawing to a close).
It's still worth watching but for me it kind of lost it's sense of originality after season 3. I suppose you can't blame the creators for playing it safe; if it ain't broke don't fix it. They are probably afraid that if they change the formula that has worked so well for them for so long it will lose them viewers.
I am a little disappointed that they don't try and do something different, I don't know what, maybe introduce a different terrorist threat than the usual stuff about nukes or viruses.
I mean the US has had every possible kind of terrorist threat you can imagine over the last six seasons; assassinations, mass murder, nuclear bombs, nerve gas etc. What else is left?

I've been a major fan of 24, it used to be great tv, but this season is awful, so awful, I can't be arsed to think about, figure out, or express why it is now sh1t.

I agree with you that i love Kim, not that much in 24 but as a person. There's still some hope Spanky-s!, Elisha Cuthbert has stated in an interview she would come back to filim '24 the movie' IF the producers wanted her to. However she has said she dosn't intend returning to the actual TV show. if you want a free picture of her you just have to email your home address to elishacuthbert@studiofanmail.com and they will send you out a free autograph! :D (Still waiting for mine! :))

Getting back to the point about day 6.... ive noticed that most of the same producers/scripters since since season 1 are still on the show, which probably explains the lack of new innovation. Do you notice that since the end of season 4/5 Kiefer Sutherland has become Co-Exc/Exc. producer for a LOT of the shows, as he's Jack Bauer it probably suits him to keep acting the way he's acting. I would only say there's 3 seasons (max remaining), as the ratings in America are slipping, and FOX are known to cancel shows based on ratings for advertising and NOT depending on the fan base

i think they really should have got Kiefer Sutherlands real life dad to play Bower Sr, i also think this series will be better on DVD with the ability to watch straight as the first few episodes were truely intense and played out at a pace that was never going to be maintained and hense the following episodes have pailed in comparison as stand alone episodes.

Donald Sutherland would be class as Bauer Snr. alright. He's got that sort of sneaky voice that the other bloke had too. Bringing in Bauer Snr. in the first place was a stupid idea though.
