well appalling actually, 1st time i've had the chence to connect the wii to anything other than a 14" portible tv, so this morning i connected it to a new 26" samsung hdtv and it looks so appalingly bad on any setting that i've just nabbed the component cable off ebay for a 10er.

Will the component make it look much better @ 480p or am i praying for miricles here? its laughable how much better it looked on the small 14" tv

getting a component cable is a great idea, makes the display much better, but here's the bad news, not for medal of honor. More lazy developing for the wii unfortunately. EA for some reason obviously dont think that people in the PAL region use HDTV and hence dont include this feature, while it includes it on all their NTSC region games. so tiger woods the same and others as far as i know. So basicaly, an NTSC console and MOH NTSC will display in 480p

I got MOH on friday, gutted to discover this. the start up wii menu starts in 480p and then as soon as you start the game it forces the TV display to 575i which as far as i know is only 50Hz display. game looks so bad hard to see what your even shooting, such a pity as the gameplay is great, a realy good game but display really puts bad taste in mouth, game is short too.

At least Nintendo display everything in 480p.

These are games i have which display in 480p
    Red Steel
    Zelda
    Wii Play
    Wii Sports

Games which i know definately do not
    MOH
    Call of duty 3
    Tiger woods

When I read the thread title, I actually thought you could have meant "bad" as in good.

Just saw an ad for this on TV, really looks very choppy, rough edges, worse than a Gamecube title.

i used to be a firm believer in that it doesnt take good graphics to make a good game, but when you see this its hard ignore the poor quality and your left with a nagging 'i was expecting better than this'.

Call of duty 3 looked much better. And played better too.

Hmm, yes its not as good as COD3 on the Wii but its not a total crock, pity no ones renting the things because its worth a weekend of your time, once you get over the murkiness and all the bloody brown!
That said, I just bought COD2 Big Red One, Sniper Elite and BrotherInArms EarnedInBlood for my PS2 and they seem to at least offer a range of different experiences in the same conflict, over and above anything I've played on the nextgen consoles, especially Brothers In Arms, classic stuff, loved the first one and enjoying the sequel, can't wait for the 360 one next, love to see it on the Wii though.

I bought the component cable cos Zelda looked terrbible on my HDTV and it made little or no difference.
Hopefully you see more improvement but I wouldn't hold your breath.
