Hi - does anybody know how to get this box to force boot? Its stuck on a software update screen, update then fails and it just cycles like that continually. Can get into engineer menu etc but there are no options to force update/boot.

    Cheers

In normal mode, you can reboot the box by press Help, then Yellow, but that most likely will not work in this mode.

Have you tried plugging it out, waiting two minutes, then plugging it back in? That should do a full reboot.

After that, I'd probably ring NTL...

What are the engineer screens saying i.e. page 4 lock status/signal quality etc.
Also on page 1 you should have the following figures 291Mhz/6.887/064.
Also check the flylead feeding the STB at both ends.Sometimes the center core can break and fall back into the white plug thingy.
The center core should be flush with the top of the threaded part of the connection.(give or take a couple of mm up or down)

I have been having the same problem since Saturday. I called ntl on saturday & they told me there was a nationwide problem. Called again this morning & they said there was no problem at all & never was!! Never fear though they can have a technician out to me on 18th April!!!

    Smart Card Status - OK

    Region Ireland

    Page 1 gives:
    Default freq - 291.000
    Default Symbol Rate - 6.887
    QAM - 064

Page 2 Netid - 42756 (can anyone confirm this is correct?)

    Page 6 gives:
Channel table - looking for updates

    Page 8:
    Timeout on recieving NIT x5
    Reboot

Network ID on both my STBs reads.......42753.(Dublin cable)
What part of the network are you on?? Did the STB you have come from somewhere else?

Hi - this box lives in the ballyfermot area. Also the box did work for a time, so perhaps it has lost its netid info. Has anybody managed to get libby to work with this box? Or a different method of setting netid? Thanks again for the replys

Ring UPC/NTL. Their box and their cable.

Your network ID is for the MMDS system. That box won't work on the cable system. There's no way of changing number.

If you want cable, you have to subscribe. Anything else is theft-of-service in this country, not just civil, but criminal .
