After years of lying to myself, I've finally come to terms with it... I think I've always felt this way, but I've tried to supress it, and not think about it, but lately it's been weighing heavily on my mind, and I think there is only one resolution.

I want to be a woman.

There, I've said it. I haven't discussed this with anyone yet, so this is the first time I've even admitted it to anyone, and I'm kinda scared about doing so here, but there are a lot of good people on this board, who will no doubt support me in my decision.

I haven't really reseached it, so if anyone here has any insight, or advice, I'd be greatfull. Thanks.

With your long flowing hair you're half way there.

Certainly Irish society is an inclusive and tolerant one in these modern times we live in and you can expect the issue to be dealt with in a inclusive and understanding manner.
While the Irish Health System may not be up the standards of the NHS across the water I’ve included links on the topic from both parties.
I commend you on having the honesty and integrity to yourself in dealing with what must be challenging issue for both you and your loved ones.

You'll have to undergo alot of psychological counseling before hand and it ccosts a hell of alot. Expect the process to take several years.

Hi Karl....well done on telling the untellable...it will get easier...and emotions don't do as much damage when they are out as when they are bottled up inside. I'm only in the early stages myself but I have learned quite a bit and feel free to send me a private message any time....if I canmaybe assist you, even a little I will certainly try.

Dublin and Cork have strong support networks, and Dr James Kelly, Oscailt centre Dublin is the unoffcical leader of Gender Reassignment therapy within Ireland. Main bodies include T.E.N.I., G.I.D.I and Si...T.E.N.I. appears a little more holistic and is the organisation which James Kelly is de facto chaplain to.

Irish T is also a sincere support website although members are vetted and require approval by moderator so as to filter disingenuous motives

Trying explain to employers why previous references and qualifications apparently relate to a different person..retraining of voice, wigs, possibly hair transplants...hormone tablets to suppress male sexual charachteristics and induce a female puberty...facial hair removal which apparently takes several years to become permanent...changing all those documents....and yeah a lot of money....

I'm just in theAn early stages of therapy....I can't say whether I'll reach the end of that journey....it is very long with so many unpredictable elements...there is also various degrees of Gender Dysphoria apparently (that term means mind and body don't match)...apparently some are able to live as members of their birth gender with lifestyle changes...that's the purpose of Counselling...to decide this

Anyone who experiences such feelings though should seek assistance...it's tough coping alone....and support will help

Well done for acknowledging this...and by acknowledging it you can deal with it. A problem isn't solved by hding it in the closet...it just rots and stinks and takes a lot of energy guarding that closet....

    Again good luck
    Alan

I don't know, while it may be someone else using Karls account, I would think he'd know better then to troll on this forum. Eitehr way it's irrelevant, useful information has been posted.

But it's april fools day... does that not count as different to trolling?

Super Furry, Boston... Those last comments hurt. :(

I've shared something very personal, and you mock me. For shame.

This is a fairly serious topic as you can see from Filan's topic. just because it's some "day" doesn't make it ok to go directly to the people affected by the topic and turn it into a joke. Standard policy here is generally to treat trolls as genuine untill such tiem as trolling is confirmed and then ban.

Oh come off it Boston, I'm not saying anything against the people affected, and I'm certainly not making a joke out of it. I'm not having a laugh at anyone's expense here but my own. The fact is, I'm solely the subject of the joke.

It was a light hearted April Fool's thread. You're making it out to be something malicious, which it is certainly not.

I reckon the only fair couse of action now is to make him go through with it.

Listen troll, I've no interest in hearing why you feel it's ok for you to take the piss on this forum. You took advantage of the nature of people here who take posters on at face value. The only reason you wheren't slatted right at the start is because there are people here for whome this is an extremely serious topic, and it would have given a very bad impression to do so. If you wanted to make this type of topic you should have done it on one of the forums you moderate. Anyway Post reported, I full expect you to be banned shortly, have a nice day.

I'm glad you've reported it. I've contacted one of the moderators of this board and asked that this thread be closed as quickly as possible, as you're taking this in an entirely hostile direction, Boston, aswell as making accusations (As in making this out of be something malicious, when it's clearly not, and I've stated as such) and personal insults. Or do you think it's perfectly ok to call me a complete tool, a muppet and a troll?

I hope you can cultivate a sense of humour, and not fly off the handle again.

I'm glad you know exactly what I think of you as a result of this thread. You've shown zero judgement here. What would you have done if someone had really open up to you on this thread? or PM'ed you something personal? It happens regularly. what would you have said "LuLz got yea"? Cop on would yea. No the thread wasn't malicious it was just totally thoughtless and insensitive, with absolutely no regard for the people that post here. You know what really pisses me off though, is that I didn't think for a second you where behind this topic, too much respect for you as a poster, I just concluded someone had access to your account. I don't like being wrong and I completely miss judged your character.

You know what I think? You're just indignant and humourless and you're just sour over being fooled.
