Barry Lang and his dodgy tashe. One of the highlights was in February 1990 when they went live to cover the release of Nelson Mandela. Not a bad music show.

Remember the giveaways that they had, people who were lucky enough to get through for the phone in competition used to win a sack load of albums and t-shirts and loads of Coca Cola merchandise, I was always so jealous!
    It was a great show!

    Oh the memories...

The Beat Box the soundtrack to my Sundays in my youth.

And it was on it's predecessor 2tv that Dave Fanning made the 'only one of them can sing' booboo after introducing a Boyzone track

The days when RTE was good

Here's a video I found on Youtube from 1995 - Ian Dempsey presenting a Beat Box simulcast (plus other random RTE continuity)

I used to think Simon Young was better & carried Peter Collins a lot.

Peter used to go on a rant & one time he/they had a skull on the show showing the hatred of Right Said Fred!

Simon Young had a longer career on radio, as he's great friends with Ian Dempsey as their kids were born on the Same day AFAIK!

Bianca Luykx was the eye candy with Dave Fanning as sometimes it was hard to keep up with his speedtalking rants!
