Amps provide such a huge part of your tone it's important you hear them both yourself and decide. Pick something that has good clean and distorted tone, something that will be loud as needs require, basically something that can adapt as your playing circumstances change and compliment those changes. Have you tried them both out? What did you think of them both?

What the Doc said. You should really, really try out the amps and then decide for yourself.

Feature-wise, theres plenty of things to separate them. Little differences are always helpful in deciding which is best for you.

The spider has a 12" speaker as opposed to the 10" of the vox. Like it or not, thats going to make it a better choice for small live gigs.

The Vox has 11 amp models to the spiders 4 - so it'll probably cover more ground tone-wise. (but, as said already, you may just want clean & dirty).

They're both decent amps for not a lot of money - and they're common enough that you should be able to try both out in one of the shops in town.

As usual, theres a caveat - once you start looking around the E250-E300 range, you're not far off some very decent 2nd hand amps.
