My Misses only just set up her O2 voicemail. Problem is that It kicks in after 4 rings which is too short. Anyone know how to increase the ring tme before the voicemail answers?
    Thanks

I think this can be done in the phone settings.

    Try this.

Menu > Settings > Call Settings > Call Divert > Divert if not answered > Activate > to Voice Mailbox > Delay Time 30 seconds : Select.

I had the same problem and I called customer care who sent me a code for extending the delay time before diverting.

    Here is another method.

    1. To get the current call forwarding status, enter *#61#[SEND] into your phone.
    2. Write down the 10-digit number(ignore the +1), this is the phone number that your calls are currently being diverted to.
    3. Enter **61*[number]*11*[delay]#[SEND] into your phone using the phone number (numbers only) as reported by the status & the delay can be set to (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30) seconds.
    4. To verify that the settings are correct, enter *#61#[SEND] into your phone.

The above information is correct except that it's describing what to do on a GSM phone operating in North America. In Ireland each mobile phone has its own individual mailbox number, which can be direct dialled.

The format is as follows :

    08X 5 YYY-YYYY

E.g. if your mobile number was:

087 999 9999 then your mailbox number is:
    087 5 999 9999

**61* is GSM language for divert when not answered.

To set up a divert to the mailbox of 087 999 9999 with a 30 second delay

    Dial : **61*(Destination number)*11*(delay time)#
    So, **61*08759999999*11*30#

Delay time is a 2 digit code, in incriments of 5 seconds.

    i.e. 05, 10, 15, and so on.
Maximum time is usually 30 seconds.

    ----

The only exception to this is on 3 Mobile.
3, like networks in the UK, doesn't use individual mobile mailbox numbers. You cannot directly dial into their mailboxes by prefixing with 5. It's quite odd in the Irish dial plan.

All users should divert calls to : 083 333 3171, regardless of what your number is!

Also, you shouldn't need to dial in the numbers in international format i.e. +353 ...., the network will probabally confirm them to you as +353 87... etc though when it sets up the divert.

    Other useful codes:
    Divert all calls, unconditionally:
    **21*(destination number)#
    To cancel ##21#
    To check status : *#21#

Divert calls if handset is unreachable (out of coverage/switched off)
    **62*(destination number)#
    To cancel: ##62#
    To check status : *#62#

Divert calls if handset is busy, call waiting's not answered / call is rejected:
    **67*(destination number)#
    To cancel ##67#
    To check status : *#67#

If you need to cancel ALL divertion:

    ##002#

If she is a Bill Payer simply type: **61*086 5XXXXXXX **no. of seconds (5-30secs)# & press the call key.

If she is Prepaid/speakeasy she will need to call O2 Customer Care

For some reason O2's no longer supporting the normal GSM way of changing the amount of ring time before diverting to voicemail.

If you're on bill pay dial 1909 and you can set it through the menus there!

Or, if you're on prepay try 1747 on your handset, or 1850 60 1747 from another phone.

If you need more specific information, O2 Ireland have user forums at : http://forums.o2online.ie/ they've tech support people monitoring them and they can really be quite helpful and fast at solving problems.

If I can get your number I can sort it out for you. Either here or on our forums.

    **61*08x5xxxxxxx**no. of seconds(5-30)# then hit call/send

replace the x's with your phone number

Just tested and it works this way now...
