Registering a vehicle

Do I need to have my UK V5C to register my vehicle?

In the UK, if you find something in a barn, that hasn't been on the road since the early-mid '70s, it won't be on the DVLA database. So you can register it from scratch and depending on what evidence you have to hand it can be dated and issued an age-related registration mark.

;) Let's say I don't have my V5C for whatever reason, can I register it from scratch and can it be dated and issued with a ZV registration mark?

Just thinking it might be of benefit as I'll be backwards and forwards a bit over the next few years....

    Cheers,
    Rich

you'll need evidence of the chassis number and of the date of first registration. If you have NO documents, the Chassis Plate and a letter from the relevant Club or a museum etc should suffice.
