It's the gallery I think. Alot of bandwidth usage there.

Boards.ie was down earlier as well and airsoftscotland.com was also giving some errors. I was beginning to think there were network issues here in work!

It happens every once in a while, usually right when I get a PM I want to read (having the notification in my email really just rubs it in :mad: ) I think its a monthly limit so we should be good on sunday, now to stop this happening again could you all kindly stop reading ASI if I see anything on it that I think you might be interested in I promise I'll post it here

Admins were all away at TA4 when this happened. Sorry guys!
That's the 3rd month in a row we've exceeded our bandwidth in the last day or two of the month. I think we need a bigger hosting package. And we've already upgraded it 3 times previously!

It is indeed the damn gallery that sucks up most of the bandwidth, but it's a feature we certainly don't want to get rid of.

are people posting bmp's instead of jpeg's? bitmaps are huge compared to jpegs.

lethal bullet: he's said before that they have updates their bandwidth loads of time, so they are trying to fix it and i'd like to see you do any better to be honest!

The Gallery is doing it. They have a choice: Delete the Gallery (Bad Idea) OR Increase the Bandwith.

And I wouldn't mind donating if it was ackknowledged which useres donated, then others might aswell. I post a bit and learn a lot from it so its worthwhile keeping it up.

Apologies for the recent ASI downtime folks. As Casper has indicated we have indeed upgraded our bandwidth package three times in the last year and it is very frustrating for us as it's owners to see it go down.

Removing the gallery would solve the problem but we do not consider that an option because it is such a popular feature.

We will discuss further upgrade packages in due course but we ask that you please bear with us as we run the forums out of our own pockets. We do want to keep ASI as a free service because we feel that relfects the spirit and mission of the forums.

Your support is appreciated but comments like "get your act together" from Lethal Bullet are not sadly. Please do remember this is a totaly free service which fails very seldom rather than often.
