Thinking about buying one of these from RSOV sometime soon. I've used N.O.I.Ps KSC and loved it. Going with the WE over KSC as it's full metal and comes with two mags.

Anyway, I have yet to see a WE 1911 in the flesh. Anyone fired one at all?
As far as I know, no one has one..so this is probably totally pointless.

    Worth a shot though :D

Man I'm all about 1911's I'm saving for a beauty to have but those WE's are ok but they have serious cool down issues I hear. That's why they give you two mags. So when one is too cold just change to other!

I've read that about the cool down issue. Although I've heard some of the other 1911s have similar problems. I don't plan on rapid firing anyway..making those shots count is what it's about ;)

And yeah scope, it will be a nice change. That's why I plan on getting it instead of the m190

Was Gonna get one off Airsoft Scotland but didn't like the ww2 aspect so I got an M9. Saw and held one at HRTA but not sure what Brand it was. Whichever it was it was really realistic and I WANT ONE now I've held it.

seems good value with 2 mags actually even if they arent the best, pistol mags are just so expensive :( , on a slightly related note i through a cyma glock onto my RSOV parts order aswell as 2 long mags :p , never thought id get a glock but at 22 quid who was i to resist. plan on painting the frame Khaki to make it a little different

yup, one of the guys i head up to predator with has the WE 1911 and it is without doubt one of the sexiest units you will get.

the WE one has no trademarks on it - which, personally, i like - gives it a meaner air (imho)

as for using it - went all pistols one day so i had my sigma and i borrowed this 1911.. now there's no point comparing it to the sigma as 'gas' will never match up to CO2 for cycle or punch but as far as gas units go, we loaded it with red on the day and the feel, range, accuracy and cycle were all as good as you could expect from a gas unit with a metal slide.

the real charm in this unit though is in the sound it makes when you action the slide... (we ooh soo badly need a 'drool' smiley on here!)

...you just have to hear it...

it has this AWESOME raw, metal on metal, real-steel, mean as hell sound to it!!

haven't come across another unit to match it to date.

    go for it!

    *edit:

wrt to cooldown - you're always going to get this on a GBB with a punchy action, it's just phsyics (spelling?...) - that much gas needed that quickly means the mag is going to cool and because the mags in the 1911 are so slim to begin with, you just can't keep enough heat in them to get around it.
it's not a design flaw, just a characteristic of that model. you really have to pick your shots.

ps: you should see what happens when i use gas mags in the sigma!! lol!

That was probably N.O.I.Ps KSC one. Theres a bit of metal on it, just not enough :) I know what you mean about the ww2 aspect. That would actually turn me off slightly so you're not alone there.

About cool down... just a thought, dunno if it would work. Anyone know those "Hot Hand" things you get in camping shops for warming your hands. They are little packs with two chemicals that react to create heat and you put em in your gloves. If you could get em behind your grips in the magwell or something would they help... most pistol don't have the space I know but some might.

The 1911s are lovely pistols. I have an M9 and I've ordered the TM 1911A1.

if you could find a way to fit them in then yeah, they probably would... certainly be an interesting thing to try at the very least - worst case scenario, the mag gets too warm and the safety valve leaks the gas...
