    Hi All,

Looking at changing my bike to a 2002 Hayabusa and was wondering what peoples opinions are of this bike - pros, cons, experiences? Currently drive a CBR 600.
    Thanks
    Brian

I've never riden one, but everyone I know who has, loves them. But the best thing is to try get a test drive on one. see if you like it your-self.

It looks great in black. Other than that, I know nothing about it.

I had a CBR600, then three Blackbirds. I found the Blackbird had the Honda refinement, quite comfortable, and docile at low speeds, but able to mix it at high speeds. The Busa my mate had was the usual raw, focused Suzuki pedigree, very impressive to ride, but I wonder how long I could spend with one.

One thing though, the Hayabusa's suspension would leave the Bird's unadjustable setup for dead.

Its currently on my "to buy" list :D , I think there's a new one due out next year. I'll probably get one then when there's a price drop for the old models.

I'm quite a big guy and its one of the only sports bikes I can comfortably sit on.

Just saw a "yellowy" one on the Swords road on my way to the Omni for lunch. Powerful (and a little scary) looking bike! I'd love to ride one myself!

What about the Kawasaki ZZR 1400 (i.e. the competition)? I don't recall ever seeing one in real life... Are they any good?

Another thing: do bikes in Ireland have to be limited to 100bhp like in France? They're going mad over there cos they buy bikes that are "castrated" of nearly half their power!

Id agree with what NED says... Had a few spins on one. They are a bit like an f-16..and put a nice smile on yer face. Also you do notice the finish is not as good as the likes of a honda.. But I reckon a nice CBR600 or R6, Blade or R1 would be nicer for the roads (and speed limits) here.
Actually... its a tractor ye need for the roads here.......no... tank.

Have always had a soft-spot for them myself.. Remember I was working in an office where they had one parked inside reception for a couple of months.. Was always such torture having that machine sitting idle in reception, and me puttering about on my CBR250 (no offence intended to any CBR250 owners, I loved my CBR250 even more!)..

High maintenance costs, I understand.. Only 2.5-3K miles to a rear tyre.. Still would love one anyway..

I heard that from a guy that owns on irishbikerforum.com, he said he got about 2k max from the back tyre.
