Firstly apologies if i doing this wrong, it seems a cardinal sin to post incorrectly in such forums. As its a night of firsts for me, thought i'd post my first boards post also.

Ok so tonight was my first time online gaming <<insert own Innuendo >>....Yep I have PS1 / PS2 and PS2 slim, psp and 360 and now PS3. (will get Wii as novality console when funds allow).

So I logged on to RFOM and pretty much got my butt kicked; but I really enjoyed it (has to say something bad about me). My bro always said 360 Live was the best but personally (just for me) I found it awkward and not entirely intuitive. I really though enjoyed that little intro to online tonight will defo continue to "try".

To those I helped win by sucking and dying so oh so very easily you're welcome.:D

I got PS3 on euro launch (the guys in virgin in dundrum actually opened the store for me!!Sweet) and have found it pretty good(and by that I mean damn good I just wanna play it cool). For me it has always been my preference to have PS console, just my own thing. My bro a MS fanboi but he does work for them so I give him some room on that score. I have enjoyed some gaming on the 360 but for me it always an intermediatory till ps3 came out and proved itself.

Which for me (imo) it has.

Played some of my favourite PS2 (burnout; god of war) games via PS3 and maybe it just in my head (but whatever) I did notice improvement in quality.

Considering I not techi at all I have found setting up alot of the PS3 functions easier than I expected. To be honest I never really tried on 360, (my heart just not in to it).
Have had no problems (unlike with 360) but it early days, and with technology like this I'd be surprised (pleasantly so) if I uneffected by problems. The 360 several times screwed me, and really the only game that impressed was GoW but only for the design, and certain play elements (like running; shooting while under cover). Otherwise WAY too short (even for a crap player like me) and not worth 70 to 80 yo yo's. But for me the best 360 game was the rockstar table tennis one, I played the game in school and this really mirrored the mechanics greatly, so for me a very (very enjoyable and )good game.

After reading alot ( and I mean alot ) of sites I find it annoying not to have forums where people come to discuss ps issues and not just make rubbish statements. After reviewing some XBOX forums I've not noticed such postings. So why on PS forums, I can only guess its really (no really bored people). I would love a dedicated site where you can talk to genuine people about issues that you're having without "ps sucks" comments. If one exists please do let me know.

At the moment I just think we're in a great console position that there is competition in the market (see 360 Elite; would MS have bothered it PS3 wasn't so good, in potential at least)... I Just a little disappointed in the games, if they look great on 1080 (WHAT EVER ) p or i or z to me that a 5 minute thing, its what the gameplay is like that really matters, hopefully this will be part of the development as much as the visuals.

Anyway thats enough from me, I have RFOM and motorstorm so if you happen to "kill" or "beat" user elfzs "your welcome".....

    cheers; nice one; slán:D
