VOIP for a new business - Also Porting In/Out

    Hi,

Looking to start a new business and to set up a Business phone line.
Complication is that the business will probably start out in a College Campus incubation office set-up in Cork City , but later (hopefully) move to a standalone location someone else in Cork. This is fine, but my concern is that I am keen that the number I set up will be the main business number for the company into the future - On Business cards, notepaper etc.
It is likely that if and when we move to a final location that it won't be in teh same neighbourhood as the first location.
With Eircom, we would have to change number.
If I go to Blueface (or similar... not sure who else there is???), I can get a geographic number. I have a few questions:

    1. If I start with Blueface and I later decide I don't like the service and decide to back to Eircom, is there any issue with porting the number back?
    2. If I port back the geographic number back to Eircom can they limit us to where the location can be within the area code?
    3. Just spoke to Blueface and they've told me that they have run out of 021 numbers.... what's that about?!!! They can give me 022, 023 or 025, but won't have 021 until the early summer?? Is this down to Blueface, Eircom or Comreg?? Anyone know if this is a problem only for Blueface?
    4. Do you know who else supplies Geographic numbers? Can I apply for a Geographic number independant of a supplier?
    5. I've seen some posts on this , but is VOIP (and Blueface specifically) robust enough to trust for your main connection to the outside world. ? The broadband would be through a large uncontended WAN connection with lots of redundancy.

    Any help really appreciated.

I would suggest Digiweb Broadband, they have very good coverage throughout Cork, also the VOIP phone is very good and if you were to relocate you can keep the same number and i dont think they have any shortage with 021 numbers.

I use digiweb for my own company and i am very pleased with the performance its very cheep compared...
