I've got this offer after calling the Dell Outlet Sales line (1850 200 778):

    Windows XP

AMD Turion 1.66 Dual Core processor

    2 gig ram

    60 gig hard drive

    256 ATI dedicated graphics

    4 cell battery

    1 year standard warranty

    €775

This is including vat and delivery charges

I don't know if this sounds odd, but they told me this will be for a new laptop, from the outlet store(?)

    Sound like a good deal?

that sounds pretty great to me.

what is the screen size, does it have wireless, how many usb ports?

i'd nearly go for this myself!

The scree size is 15.4 inches, it does come with a wireless card built in and there are 4 usb ports.

    Here's the full spec:

    Inspiron 1501 Turion 64 X2 TL50 (1.6GHz, 256K)
15.4" Wide Screen XGA TFT Display: 1280x800
    English - System Documentation
    UK/Ireland - Power Cord
    Microsoft Vista Capable Logo Label
Resource CD - contains Diagnostics and Drivers
    Memory Dual-Channel 2048MB (2x1024) 533MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Hard Drive 60GB Serial ATA (5400 RPM)
Fixed Internal 8X DVD+/-RW Drive including Software
    AC Adapter 65W
    4 Cell 29WHr Primary battery
    Not Included Carry Case
ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 256MB HyperMemory
UK Modem Cable and Adapter Internal V.92 Data, Fax, Voice Functions

    Dell™ Wireless 1390 802.11b/g Mini-PCI Card (for AMD Processors)

    UK/Ire - (QWERTY) - Internal Keyboard
    Software Drivers
English - Genuine Windows XP Home SP2 including Media

English McAfee Security Centre 7.0 - 90 Day Trial Version
    No Warranty Upgrade
    Base Warranty
90 Day CAR (Collect and Return)

Disappointingly, the video card is integrated, not dedicated as I was first told.

I opted for 60 gig hard drive and 90 day collect and return to bring down the price.

Total is €775 including vat and delivery. I just rang the sales line quoted at the top of the page on the Irish outlet notebook site and they told me I could get a new pc from the outlet, with XP.

The order is being shipped from the UK, despite the fact that I rang an Irish number.
