Anyone out there care to clarify something for me..

Have had problems registering my Wii (to get the extended warranty). Got the serial number off the back, tried inputting it and it won't accept it ("The PIN / serial number you entered is not valid. Please check the number and try again."), so i wrote to Nintendo about it who replied to me with:
Hello and thank you for contacting Nintendo,

I'm sorry to hear you've had a problem with the product registration service on our website (http://www.nintendo.com/productregdes). Normally, we would be able to provide more details regarding what to do to resolve your specific problem. However, the response to our new console has been such that doing so might take several more days. As an alternative, I've provided some tips below that might help.

All Nintendo systems have a serial number that consists of two letters and nine numbers. Every digit must be entered to properly register a system. For example, a Wii serial number would look like this: LU123456789.
The problem is my serial number has three letters and nine letters like so: "LEH123456789".

Anyone else clarify how many letters prefix their serial number on their Wii console?

Cheers for that aidan... and Damo. Good ol' Nintendo technical support so! :D

Am gonna shoot them an e-mail asking for more info on why exactly it won't register.

It's an American site and EU serial number?

I thought that as well but can't find where to register the Wii on the Nintendo-Europe site..

    http://wiiportal.nintendo-europe.com/30.html

Edit: Maybe not, sorry. Seems to go to regular Nintendo signup page.

The European warranty is a year or so under law I thought. The US one is only 90 days and that's why they extend it. I could be wrong because I haven't actually checked it out for the Wii, only going on memory.

    Hmmmm, doesn't sound right...

I thought warranty was a year by standard for all regions.. and you could extend it by 90 days by registering it on Nintendo.com

    Could be wrong though.

You're right it is a year. The Xbox had 90 days and that burnt into my mind as all warranties in America.
