bit late, but mam was asleep and I couldn't get in to post this

it's been on for ten minutes now, channel 316 I think.... if you've got 2 hours without much to do you should stick it on

really excellent film, a ww2 british pilot bails out of his aircraft without a chute, somehow survives the fall and falls in love with the female radio operator he spoke to as his plane was diving. Then heaven sends a representative to inform him that he should have been taken up when he fell, and tries to take him there and then.. he argues that as a result of heaven's mistake in collecting him.. he has fallen in love and has a right to protest his recall up there. Towards the end of the film, there's a court case with him suing heaven for the right to live and stay with this woman... absolutely brilliant flick

it was made in 1946, some kind of effort to smooth over english-american relations after the war... seriously, watch it.

Yeah tis worth a watch. I remember it looking absolutely amazing for a 60 year old film when I watched it.
    Technicolour for the win!

Forget the technicolor stuff its the depiction of black and white afterlife that is teh winnar! The stairway to heaven scenes are wonderfully well done.

my fav bit is when the american pilots are entering heaven (while trapshaw is waiting for peter in heaven), after they've been given their wings.. they are walking through an archway and one of them says

'wow, home was never like this' and steps through the arch, then the guy right behind him has a really odd expression on his face and just says 'mine was'.

i'm not sure if they intended for that scene to be so weird but... that's just ****ing weird.
