    Hi

Is there a standard level of payment you can expect for benefit?
Or does it depend on the length of time worked etc..

Also if you claim you left your job due to health issues would they expect proof from your doc??

If you are a single person the following is the situation:

The length of time worked by you does not really have a bearing on the rate of unemployment benefit/jobseeker's benefit. Provided you satisfy the qualifying conditions, Unemployment Benefit/Jobseekers's Benefit rates are graduated according to average gross weekly earnings in the relevant tax year (this is currently 2005).

The rates are as follows for a single person:

Average Gross Weekly Earnings = Less than €80.00, amount payable = €83.50
Average Gross Weekly Earnings = €80.00 and less than €125.00, amount payable = €120.00
Average Gross Weekly Earnings = €125.00 and less than €150.00, amount payable = €145.60
Average Weekly Earnings = €150.00 or more, amount payable = €185.80

If you left your job due to health reasons you would have to prove that you are capable of work (as this is one of the scheme conditions) so proof from your doctor may be needed to verify that you satisfy this condition. A person signing on for jobseeker's benefit/unemployment benefit must be capable of work, and available for full-time work.
