mac book pro query

I have a new 15 mac book pro. However the CD/DVD optical drive is very noisy when taking in CD's or DVD's. I contacted Apple about this and they put me in touch with a mac repair centre in Dublin.
However I got the laptop back today, and to be honest there doesn't seem to be much of a difference in the noise. All the CD's or DVD's I have tried have been clean. Just wondering if other users MAc book Pro are noisy when taking in Cd/DVD's. I will be a bit suprised if they are that noisy.

    Any help appreciated

I know this sounds stupid, but can you describe the noise? May just be part of the regular action of the drive, my macbook drive isn't especially quiet, but it's not noisy.

Slot loading laptop drives can be quite noisy.

when the CD is entered it sounds like its plucking the CD or grinding it. Totally pissed about it. Googled this query and have found loads of other people with the same issue. I think I will call Apple again.

The disc load and eject action on my MBP may be a little noisy compared to a traditional slide-in, slide-out tray mechanism but during operation the noise is normal - just the usual low whirr noise of the disc spinning.

If you have Wiretap or something maybe you could record the noise and post a link? Thats what I had to do recently when I was complaining about the NUMEROUS annoying noises coming from my MBP.
