No Refund from PPP for IO Sat disconnect - opinions

Anyone else try get a refund regarding the disconnection on PPP during the $320 IO Sat on Sunday night? I know Ollieboy, jackyback and CiaraiRi were on the thread at the time.

I asked for a refund after I went out of it on Sunday night. Was told at the time by Host that there would be a refund and later by phone. But got a reply today that "Although we did experience some issues, the tournament wasn't severely affected enough for a full refund."

Not sure how they can say the tournament wasn't severly affected! It was hugely affected.
We lost 25 minutes of play, almost 2 full blind level, most of 50/100, all 75/100, and some of 100/200.
The tournament went down at 22:22 and didnt return until 22:47.
I went from having approx 2200 chips at 50/100 (i.e. an M of 15 and plenty of play left) to as soon as i return having 1800 chips at 100/200 (i.e. an M of 6 and no move but all in). Its not like the tournament was gone for a minute.

This wasn't the blind structure I signup for, if it was I wouldn't of played.

Was offered a $50 tournament chip as a good will gesture. TBH I find this insulting. This was not a $10 SNG, it was a $320 satellite for their main tournament. Rang again and was offered another $50 chip but that that was the final decision.

Surely it is the responsibity of the operator, that if the tournie goes down it is restarted from where it stopped, not 25 minutes later? Otherwise the tournie is void.

I'd like to here what KarlH and everyone else thinks about this?

If I do not receive a full refund of this buyin I for one will never again be playing on PaddyPowerPoker/iPoker or betting with PaddyPower.

    Beyond furious!!  It's an absolute joke.

Just after checking my account again and the full buyin is after being refunded:) :D
Not sure it this is the power of Boards. But I'm glad someone at PaddyP has seen sense.
Still think it's pretty poor I had to go through several email, calls and a somewhat heated discussion with support to get it sorted.

I seem to be in the minority but I actually kind of like the new software, and like to support an Irish company rather than giving my rake elsewhere, but I wont be returning until I hear these problems have been sorted.

Glad to hear you got a full refund.
I emailed GJP support yesterday and got a quick response although not the one I was looking for. Although in fairness they have to go through blue square on this according to the response I got.

I totally agree with you, that the tourney turned into a premature crapshoot due to network problems and like you thats not what I signed up for. So as far as I'm concerned anything less than a refund is unacceptable.

As far as I know PPP is registered in the Isle of Man so your not really supporting a fully Irish company, allthough in fairness at least they do employ people in Ireland, however so do Full Tilt, GJP et al.

I got a reply and my money back. I was playing the €2500 GP and had done a 'Add on' so was €110 in the red. I mailed them and got a mail back the next day and my cash was in my account.

yes played this too and before interuption i had 22 bb.when it eventually came live again i had just 11bb,an absalute disaster to be honest.i dont think all players should have to contact PP as they have set a presedent by refunding at least 1 player so they should do the right thing and look after all there players that registered,by way of a refund or another qualifier for those affected which would be a great welcome considering some people didn't know that last sunday was the last online qualifier.

Thank you for contacting Paddy Power Gaming Support.

Unfortunately we cannot issue a refund for this tournament. Although the server was affected for several blind levels, it
did then continue and paid out. As such your entry fee ($320) contributed towards the eventual winner. $20 went to
    paddypowerpoker.

However in light of the fact that there were issues with this tournament, I have credited your account with 2 Fort Knox
Jackpot Sit N Go tokens to the value of $118 as a good will gesture. Please accept our apologies for the issues you
experienced. We have been assured that the issues affecting the servers have since been resolved.

If you have any other queries, please contact us at the details below.

Bull$hit I'm pissed off they gave a player in the same tournament his money back and only gave me feckin tokens.
Like fl&sh said they set a presedent by giving one player back his money

How can PPP refund The Rock $320 butoffer me a free entry to the $110 boards invitational tournie.

    Following e mail sent.

    Alex
This sucks. Please review this decision. You refund "The Rock"
$320(who had 2200 chips before your site crashed) and you offer me
(who had over 4 times as many chips) a tournie entry worth $110.
This makes no sense. Please do not hide behind the statement that
you treat customers on a case by case basis and please refund me $320
    now.

Site crashes may be beyond your control but decent customer service
    should not be.

Would the Paddy Power people who post here please explain what is going on.

Good luck with that. Sounds to me like the way insurance companies work. Say NO enough times then only pay out to the small percentage that b1tch and moan the most. Standard practice. PPP should really be pressurizing iPoker to pay out.

After telling me that the decision was final and that they would not offer me a refund, I just logged in now to find a $320 "bonus" added to my account.

Thanks to whoever in Paddy Power Poker who made this decision .
