Over the basic, yes.... Differences Below. Easily worth an extra €28

    Vista Home Basic:
The bare bones product. Don't even bother - you won't get much of a difference over XP. £175 Full version, £90 Upgrade.

    Vista Home Premium:
This is the version most people will end up with. It includes Media Center support, as well as HDTV support, DVD authoring software and better hardware support, such as for SideShow displays and touch screens. £210 Full version, £140 Upgrade.

    Vista Ultimate Edition:
This is the big daddy version, which has everything that Vista has to offer. You get all the hardware support, Media Center, as well as extra games and such. You can get software to use full-motion video as a desktop background. BitLocker encryption is included, as well as WinSAT, which claims to be a game performance tweaker. £350 Full version, £230 Upgrade.

if you are looking to upgrade to the x1950pro graphics card, please make sure the power supply with this unit can handle it. i believe you need at least 450 watt supply for that graphics card. don't want to fry your system!!

just done some digging as am thinking of building my own system but this looked liked a bargain and i have more ram already to throw in it and a great dvd drive. the power supply of this system is 305 watt. now i have also read that the graphics card will work in systems with 300-400 watt. hopefully i'm right. please post on here if it doesn't as then i won't get the x1950 which i'm looking to get. and condolances if is doesn't!!

E520 comes with 305w psu so you'd be cutting it fairly fine! It will work but hardly guaranteed stable...

Be aware that the E520 doesn't have any IDE connectors. It's SATA only.

With the restrictions of PSU on this machine. Could someone recommended a

Graphics card for it around the €150 mark.

A 7600GT or a 6800 GT? Will both work on this system?

7600GT will work, 6800 needs an extra power connector so it while it would work it'd be safer to just go for the 7600GT. 7600GT is better and probably cheaper new anyway.

Other relatively decent card that'd work fine would be the X1650XT or if you wanted to save money, the 7600GS or X1650Pro which are only about 100 each.

Shame about the X1950Pro Irishdude....I just read on another thread that the E520 only has two ram slots as well.....maybe not such a good ideal to have considered the e520 as a gaming machine. :(

Why don't you just take the X800gt from your current machine? Assuming the point of buying the E520 was to upgrade to a newer dual core machine.....

    Or is it agp...

How much space is in the case? The X1950pro is a pretty big card (which model did you get actually, mine is the HIS iceq one, its huge) but anything like a 7600gt is alot smaller and should fit and is still a pretty good card.

Well, Wizzard is selling an X800 on adverts for 70 euro....could do worse and it's not a bad card at all even now. I used to have one, doesn't need any extra power from psu, small fan, fairly quiet....

Would komplett take the card back? Selling it for cost price gonna prove pretty difficult...
