Extend Satellite connection

Silly question: I'm trying to avoid having to buy/connect a quad LNB to do this:
We have a Satellite receiver connected in the living room. Wife wants to be able to move the receiver to the kitchen for summer months. Is it possible to join a cable to the existing incoming connection and extend it to the kitchen? If so, what is involved apart from the extra cable? (It is a Freeview set up not Sky)

you might be better off using a video sender.

You can use the RF2 output on the digibox, together with a suitable receiver [see picture below] to relay commands from the remote control, to use your digibox where it is not but in a different room. These cost around €25. You can use your existing Sky remote on the TV in the kitchen. If you're not moving the TV from the living room during the summer months, you'll need to reprogram the remote to operate a different TV, otherwise you might like two remotes: one for the living room TV and another for the kitchen TV.

Sound is mono, however, and the picture may not be the best. If going down this route, use good quality cable. CT100 would be best especially if it's a long run.

I presume by "Freeview" you mean an FTA box? Or do you mean a Sky box with "Freesat from Sky" viewing card? Note that Freeview only refers to digital terrestrial services in UK only. It has nothing to do with satellite.

Anyway, you could run a lead from Room 1 to Room 2 with F connectors on either side, and in Room1, join the existing sat cable with the new extension using an F back-to-back connector. Extending satellite cables isn't really ideal, though should work unless the cable run is very long.

happyhammer's suggestion of a video sender might also be an option provided the two TV points aren't too far apart.

The TVLink pictured above is only relevant if you have a Sky Digibox, and currently, I'm not sure what box you have.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. Went in to Maplins and the cheapest solution was Byte's suggestion with the lead and the two connectors and the back to back with 25 metres of cable, €33 all in.
Sorry it is a Free to Air box, no Sky and it would be used on two different tv's, so the above seemed to be the easiest solution and it works a treat, thanks.
