i aquired this the other day after reading and hearing good things and I must admit im suprised about how enjoyable it is. it is like and RPG where you win battles by taking the enemy on in a game of bejeweled which sounds crap I know but it is suprisingly enjoyable. I recommend to give it a go! reminds me of Fire emblem slightly

Hiya, where did you get it by the way? Or have you seen it around? My girlfriend was playing the pc demo last night and is dying to get the ds version now.

    Cheers.

I managed to pick it up today. So peace and quiet at last :)

Its in game and in Virgin Stores. I had to ask for it in game though as it wasn't on the shelf. Its release date was 16th of March it seems. Virgin was €40 and Game only €30!

    Euro release dates

    Looks like a fun game.

So far its total addiction with this one. Love these little gems (no pun) that pop up for DS on occasion. If you enjoy puzzle games for the DS (zookeeper, tetris, Meteos and so on) this seems to a nice addition. If you don't well you probably won't :)

im no good at it mind.I am at a giant bat thingy which keeps sucking my life and taking it for itself the bast'. I was never good at these type of games with loads of colours. im really slow at spotting them together, jsut like meteos and bejewelled or hexic. tetris is more my kind of puzzle game but this is still addictive

What're the mechanics of the actual puzzle? Is it just Zoo Keeper?

I'm really enjoying this, but the AI can demolish you with some seemingly flukey combinations. One single match 3 can result in several match 4's and match 5's dropping from the top of the screen (yet this rarely happens to you). Kind of unfair, to be honest......

There is a certain amount of luck involved in it theres no doubt. I can't say I've had that happen to me too often (not 5's anyway) but then again I can't prise the DS out of my gfs hand long enough for it to happen to me! Total addict. Got a copy for a friend yesterday and he went nuts on it as well.

Regarding game mechanics a brief explanation :

Played on an 8x8 board with various coloured gems, also coins and skulls. Match any 3 (or more) in a vertical or horizontal row and you get the value of the gems added to your mana pool. So 3 reds will add +3 to mana pool. There are also coins which give you money, and purple gems which give you experience. Even if you lose a battle you get to keep any coins and experience you gathered, which is an odd mechanic but it does mean you feel unrewarded for fighting the same battle several times. Then there are skulls which when matched do direct damage to the opponent. Your mana pool lets you cast spells. There are various rpg elements capturing mounts, creating spells and items. You wander around a map doing quests and can also just play pure simple combat without the whole quest thing through instant combat.
