Ah the little joys in life such as 24 :)
    ______________________________

    Really enjoyed this ep.

I knew Nadia couldn't be the mole. Way to obvious and been done to death before.
History between Doyle & new guy Johnson. Could be interesting.
Cheaky **** tho, trying to sell out Doyle but I can't say he didn't deserve it because I thought he was going to destroy the chip!

The overall ep had a strong relationship theme throughout. Nadia & Milo [*w00t w00t*, about damn time really. Boy did I chuckle tho :)], Wayne & the sister, mark and his brother.
I felt it really added to the ep.

Excellent take down of Gredenko. I knew the kid wouldn't die but god dammit it was tense.

That ****ing VP. With each passing ep it does seem like he was involved in the assassination attempt. Wayne comes round and stops the sub launch & the VP turns around and is going to the AG to strip Wayne of CiC duties. ffs.

Prez is back :D , That vice prez really seems to want to start a war :p Tryin to get Wayne outta office now  Was surprised that , the guy who was leadin the field team while jack was captive, actually submitted the chip. Thought that was gonna be a bit more of a scuffle with him and Milo when Milo found out, dunno what the guy who told him was playin at though  Some personal grudge maybe??

It's either that or he's gung ho trigger happy with a fairly large grudge against the Middle East. I wonder will he succeed in removing Wayne before his brain explodes?

And Doyle did the right thing in the end, I had a feeling he might when he asked Bill how she was and where she was, but then wasn't sure when Martoof (from SG1, anyone recognise?) squealed to Milo. Obviously something big between them the way he smiled after Doyle walked away from him.

Is Gredenko going to get his pardon and walk free in exchange for finding Fayed? I'd say that might be the next step but I wonder will Jack put a bullet in him in the end anyway, like he did to Robocop last year?

Gredenko is as good as dead... i'm glad we finally have a realist terrorist though, someone who doesn't suffer Jacks torture and then give up the information. Jack looked kinda dissapointed he folded so fast, he obviously wanted an excuse to beat his ass. There is going to have to be someone who will come after Gredenko and kill him? Fayed? I guess we'll have to wait and see. The one thing this show has proven, they never let the bad guys live.

I personally like the VP's character, he adds a lot to the storyline and drama, a lot more so than the vanilla Wayne Palmers. It's like he was in training with Logan for the last 2 years then decided to go one step further and go nuclear... i'm hoping at least another nuke goes off before the end of the season... Jack dying in a nuclear blast would be the ultimate way to go out, although i'd say next season is going to be set in China maybe, with Jack on the hunt for his missus.

I wasn't impressed I have to say, nor have I been with the last few episodes. Compared with the first 8 hours or so, the season has taken a dip. There has been none of the "Holy fúck, I can't wait for the next episode" epsiodes in a while. Nothing really happened, bar Gredenko getting caught, everything else that happened we pretty much knew was going to happen, Palmer waking up, Nadia not being the mole etc.

That being said, Nadia still looked ridicoulosly sexy after being in holding for an hour, and the VPs assistant, nyom nyom.

This show is getting beyond stupid.

We're going to launch a nuke at the "target in Fayed's country" for the craic.

And for God's sake if they can't mention the country why make the plot in the first place?

I can't take Martouf seriously at all.

Does anyone else really hate Milo, the big-chinned piece of human garbage? I was really hoping he had set up Nadia last week because I wanted to see him get caught and beaten by Jack or Doyle...or both. With Bill watching on the monitor. Mmmm:D

I hope they don't push the whole love interest angle with Nadia now and the way he grabbed her for the kiss was bang out of order, even if she secretly wanted it like all girls do.

    Indeed.

I liked the episode, it was nice to have less action and more character stuff.

Why are you so petty about this? Let's say then that it is Syria for all the difference it makes. I can understand why they don't want to go naming a specific country. Didn't the Iranians get all pissed off over the film 300. And I am sure some yanks would get up in arms and attack any poor bastard that they see from said country.

They have mentioned Russia, and Germany was mention last season.

And in Season one they mentioned Kosovo.

That still doesn't show why they should mention a name this season. It is working fine without it so it isn't exactly crucial to the plot.

They dont need to state any countries!

    Fayed is clearly Irish :)

    MAJOR
According to IMDB Audrey returns at 11PM, and 24 aint a show for flashbacks, so, im sure shes aloiv and kickin!

Hopefully more tensions builds between Doyle and the newbie, and we finally find out what happened in Denver

Milo & Nadia, no1 else see that as a shot at the new Tony and Michelle????

MOD EDIT: unreggd, there's spoiler tags for a reason.

Edit: I relaly liked the episode.. kind of slow moving, but the VP's business keeps me hooked.. trigger happy bastard. I almost lost interest half way through the day - (felt that all had been done before - and the novelity effect had worn off) - but for some reasons I'm loving it again. Can't wait for next hour.

Neither the Germans nor the Russians have a history of stapping bombs to their bodies as soon as you insult their faith or country in some shape of form.

I'd say Fox is genuinly concerned not to provoke a real world backlash (or infact a warning shot - as they suggest doing themselves in the series).

You can't even make fantasy films anymore (300)without a backlash so it's no surprise that they don't mention specific middle eastern countries.

    Hi all,

I love the VP's character, he is a very powerfull character, and scary, just the kind of leader you need. BUt then again, I do reckon he is behind allot of what is going off with the assassination of the president, it goes far deeper than we know, I am sure.

I think Jack will soon get involved with the fight for presidency somehere along the way, as the terrorist will link to the VP, I am sure.

As for unreggds spoiler, I thought that straight away.

Overall, a great season I think, even though I have to wait ages for the download in the UK.

Here Spanky thats a bit ridiculous now.
The only was we could comment on this episode (which is about 3 weeks ahead of the latest ep aired in Europe) is if it had been downloaded...or you happen to be over in the US. So surely its a bit silly pulling out the ban stick, especially if no one is mentioning sites. If they do that then take out the ban branch!

PS please don't ban me ;) The boards are here to allow us to voice our opinions :)

There was a mention of a myspace site. Not linked, but mentioned.

We all know that it "gets accuried" and discussed 3 weeks ahead of our region, but we made a strict rule that its not to be mentioned in such an obvious way.

I'm letting Trax01's post be, as they are new to the forums.

    Opinions are always welcome ;)

I read the charter - the site I mentioned is not illegal - it's an official Fox website directly linked by the official 24 site. Has loads of their shows on it - all entirely legal. It was set up as a response to being pre-empted by baseball and football in certain areas. By supplying the episodes after they air it doesn't hurt the original rating and lets people who chose not to watch it catch up before the next week.

Yes it means it is illegal to watch it from outside the states. The company providing the service checks your IP address to see if its coming from the US and if it doesn't then it prevents you streaming/downloading the show. For example RTE have rights to Irish Soccer matches in the Republic however it doesn't have the rights to provide coverage to people outside the republic hence RTE blocks people from watching those matches on-line from outside the Irish Republic.

Sky and RTE hold the rights to 24 they don't want Fox providing this shows around the world after all they have paid to show it in their territories providing fox don't.

Quiet a lot of hoo haa about the above. I know rules alsways forbid taking about sites etc, but I think its a bit harsh when actually mentioning the download word gets a response. I will stay clear of it from now on though. :D

Anyhows, I think we should all get back on topic, is Jack going to get involved with the President v VP row in tonights episode? Will he find a link to whats going on with the VP?

Good episode and definately better than last week's; there was no Jack playing computer games thank God.

The autistic character had Dustin Hoffman in Rainman written all over him. It was a neat twist though -hopefully Jack will be torturing Tom Cruise by the end of the day.

I'm not sure why the VP wants to start a war with the Middle East. He seems determined to bomb the pants off them for no reason other than he can. The writers should give him some sort of motivation. Let me guess... oil.

The VP's attempt to remove Palmer smacks of season 2, although after six years I suppose it's hard not to recycle old ideas. Sutherland recently said they had to postphone 24:the movie because it was straining the writers too much.

Finally, everyone seems to recover for life threatening injuries a little too easily for my liking. Check out Palmer sitting up and giving orders with all his limbs intact after being bombed only a few short hours ago. But I suppose this is 24.

Yeah, saw that alright and apparently there is more SG1 croos-over on the way!!

This episode was fairly good, but the idea of not naming Fayed's country is starting to get annoying

Gredenko seemed to fold very quickly, but he might be able to walk free if he gets immunity, and still no word on Charlie Logan - surely he must have kicked the bucket by now, or else he's fine and their is no need to mention him.

That Brady lad was strange, one second he can barely string two words together and then he can talk about IP addresses etc. I thought he would have at least gotten injured in the shoot-out, but not a scratch on him.

Wayne Palmer must have the best recovery abilities in the world - only a few hours ago he was in a bomb attempt on his life and now he is up and about without any permanent damage (that we know of)

Good episode, I'm glad there isn't a mole, the writers have played that hand enough in previous seasons. Great scene where Gredenko was picking up the chip from the guy's brother, some nice tension when the sniper's shot on Gredenko was being blocked.
The whole situation between Palmer and Daniels is a bit reminiscent of Season 2 I think.
