    Hey folks,

Just wondering if anyone's ever used one of these?

In theory it seems like a great way to keep battery drain at bay. Seems easier than unhooking a battery and dragging it in and out to plug it in to a mains charger.

    Any thoughts? :)

Never used one, but should be fine. Maplin's Jervis St D1 had this for half price (about €16) very recently - may be still available.

Tell me about it - I saw them last week for €16 and not realising they were half-price said I'd wait till I was back next time.

    They were €33 yesterday!

Hi I dont have one. I know a lad that swears by them, he has three on the roof of his shed and wired down to his 3 cars and has never had to jump start them. I am gutted to think they were 1/2 price last week.

I actually use a solar panel to charge a car battery which I run 12v low energy lights in the garage.

It gives about 40w of light for a 4-5hr period each day and the battery is fully charged most evenings...

plan is to try to run a heater on a timer in the winter....
