So I also frequent Something Awful and I see this banner and think that it's something to do with Nation States. But it wasn't. It's similar to NS but greatly expands on various areas such as trading and war.

Speaking of which I'm part of Goon Order of Neutral Shoving (GOONS) and we are on what will be the winning side of The Great War III.

What I would love to see is people joining up and forming a Boards.ie alliance. One with close ties to GOONS and it's allies but fundamentally a boards.ie Alliance.

It's weird, it's just a webgame but when you're in a war like this it's mental. And fun.

Are the goons fighting on the Side of the Syndicate or against them?

I'm a member of LSF (The Libertarian socialist federation) We fought against Nordreich nazis there last week and are remaining neutral in the goons war.

And If your not on Nordreichs side then your on the loosing side of the GWIII war.Were soon to become the only superpower as Legion and Gato are crumbling.

Two other friends of mine are planning on making a Irish group if ye would like to join.

I'm with Goons for the foreseeable future but I am considering starting up a boards based alliance. We are not the biggest forum site in the world but we're certainly big enough to become a powerful player.

The Goons have been good to me, they've fought with me and given me aid when I needed it. And in GWIII we are winning. A lot of the smaller alliance's have surrendered and GATO are considering surrendering. I am still fighting members of the Orange Defense Network. I've put two into Anarchy, got one to surrender and one to hide in peace mode (COWARDLY BASTARD!).

I imagine if GATO does surrender then the war will end soon. Once it does I'm going to pimp this harder and create a framework to build a boards alliance.

On the issue of government I think the boards way is best: benevolent dictatorship works. Democracy is nice and all that but the game moves too fast for this. So President for life for me and possibly an elected Prime Minister. Other positions would be appointed based on meritocracy.

Why me? Well as a full Goon I can pretty much guarantee that the Boards Alliance would be protected from attacks by other alliances. I am also the Games Category Mod and an experienced manager. As Goons now control the Black Team Senate, that would be the ideal team colour to start with. It is now stable and therefore trades and sanctions would be also stable.

There a few more things to consider:

What to call the Boards Alliance? Goons stands for Goon Order Of Neutral Shoving. Should we do something similar? Boards Order of Armed Really Dashing States? Or how about Boards Army of Protected States (BAPS).

Hmmm I like BAPS.

A flag. Obviously the boards logo would have to be incorporated as would the colour black.

Forums. All the decent alliances have forums sites with public and private forums used to organize things like wars and aid.

Thoughts?

So it begins.

First of all I have requested a private forum to be created here

Once that is created, I will add people into it. Then we shall discuss government types and charters.

I have sent the leadership of goons a message enquiring about how this would go. For anyone here that isn't also a GOON you could have no better ally on Cybernations. We will be firmly on the side of The Inititiave because:

1. Aegis are crap and pretty much dead since GWIII
2. The Inititiave have the best sense of humour

For the time being, grow your nation, switch to the Black team (if you can, nations that already have a lot of trades on another colour should stay there until our numbers grow). Set your alliance name to either BAPS or GOONS.

Once we have the intitial set up complete, I will put up a Games Category wide announcement pimping BAPS. In the meantime, put a link to this thread in your sig and tell your friends.
