Just to be slightly pedantic, the Observer got 13 nomination, Trinity News got 11 and the Tribune got 10.

Yes and from that pool you're then shortlisted, and then you're put into a group of 'nominees'.

You have to send in your articles/copies of the paper yourself but then it's whittled down, first of all to a shortlist of about 7 or 8 and then to a final list of nominees (usually 5, but in a couple of cases there are 6).

Edit: Damn you Myth, getting there before me :)

If you're going to be pedantic get it right! The Observer got 14 and the Tribune got 11!

Did I also hear that the Observer won newspaper of the year?

    Could be wrong.

Edit in light of post below: Ah, ok, Layout and Design. I knew they got something else!

Congrats to Stephen, he puts in some trojan work down there in the windowless pit.

I must say I've read the UCC express. Its impressive! They don't blabber on about the su like we do (even though the su have a lot more involvement with it) so it really feels like a students paper and not a hacks paper

But nothing happens outside of hackland? What have they got left to write about? :P
