nifty fifty for nikon?

Hey all I'm looking for a 50mm (or there abouts) lens for my D70s- is there a nifty fifty equivalent for nikon??

There is a 50mm 1.4 and a 1.8. I have the 1.8 which is very sharp but the autofocus is quite loud. There is a considerable difference in the price between the two of them but you should be able to pick up a 50mm 1.8 for €100. I got mine from the UK for €70.

I do believe this is it , although Komplett are way off the mark with prices on lenses at the moment it has a picture so you know what to look for.

It's a Nikkor. Mine is faily old and was made in Japan. The newer ones are made in China.

If budget is an issue then you could shop around for a second hand lens. 50mm is a common lens so i'm sure you could pick one up fairly cheap and quite new. If that's any help.

I think there may be a supply problem with the 50mm, I asked the price in Jessops in Belfast (£89) and they said they had them back-ordered for several weeks now. Also a mate has one ordered in Berminghams and he's been weeks waiting on that too.

Popular lens, it seems.

i got it off that something galaxy site on ebay, au galaxy or something can't remember, got it with hood for damn cheap too. best bang for buck in the lens department
