Can't sleep with my girlfriend!

    Hey,

This may seem rather trivial to some, but my problem is quite literally as the title says, I just cannot get to sleep with my girlfriend in the bed!

We started seeing each other almost 3 months ago (she's a hot Lithuanian :) tee hee) and it's been this way since the start. It makes no difference whether it's in my bed or hers, I never seem to get more than 1 or 2 hours sleep while she's there.

We usually have a right long session o' lovin' before settling down to sleep. Usually this would have me in tatters and I'd be conked out within minutes of finishing, but it just ain't happening for me.

Also, I don't drink any caffeinated drinks nor fizzy drinks and I'm not big on sugary sweets either. So, I can't think of anything in my diet that's keeping me up. I don't think it's insomnia either. I recently got a new job, earning good money and I've got a gorgeous, intelligent lady who's crazy about me. Life couldn't be sweeter right now, except for th fact that I'm always wrecked.

Anyone got any ideas what I can do? I don't think she'd be happy with separate beds. Any natural remedies or anything like that out there that could help with this?

    Cheers

What is that has you not sleeping? Is it too hot, are you a light sleeper normally? Does she snore? Or is it that you have trouble relaxing and switching your brain off?
I'm sure there are plenty of natural herb tablets you could try. I don't have any to recommend though, sorry. Try going into a natural medicine shop and asking.

What are your sleeping conditions like? I find a bit of white noise helps sometimes (like a fan or maybe some light music). You could try Melatonin.

well if you cant sleep and nothing works for you, you can take these tablets in the chemist called "Pharmaton". They worked great for me and i never felt tired at all. or you could just sneak out and sleep on the sofa :D;):D

Used to have the same problem with my ex, the chemistry between us was incredible. I think it was the adrenalin rush of his presence that used to cause it.
Can't say I ever solved it I'm afraid.

Used to drive him crazy as I was tossing and turning all night.

I still find it hard to sleep at times in the same bed as my GF (of 6 years) I always sleep better on my own.

Maybe you need a bigger bed?

the only time i have had trouble sleeping with a bf was with my first one and that was because i never felt sercure with him. i think you might be thinking too much.

Maybe she is too close to your face. i found it hard to sleep beside my ex if he was breathing on me, (we shared a single bed) i find it easier facing away. I'm used to having my own breathing space. x

I had this happen before , it has happened with my ex and couple of people I was involved with after. It made me reluctant to share a bed sometimes.
It took me a while to figure the problem as with living at home you don't share a bed with your partner after sex unless you've a free house :)

I think that it just gets time to get used to sleeping with someone else, now it is far harder sleeping without my husband.

Any mirrors in the bedroom, opposite the bed? If so, try covering it.

Have heard before that sleep disturbances can also be smell or scent related. Not suggesting she smells but am referring to peoples often imperceptible and totally natural personal scent. Maybe try buying her a perfume you really like and cuddling up to that.

Some people just go through phases of it though. Just talk to her about it and be prepared to give her lots of cuddles at other stages during the day if you do have to sleep in separate beds...That kind of physical closeness is important and a lack of it can be a real strain on a relationship without either party realising it.

I had the same problem at the start because I found the room (typical small student apartment) much warmer than I was comfortable with. In the end opening the window helped a little and I got used to the change.

Used to have the same problem with some of my exes. Usually solved by turning off the radiator in the bedroom / opening a window / getting a double bed.

A lot of crazy theories going round.

I think you just need to get used to another human being in your bed. I hope it's a double bed, or else the diagnosis is very easy.

Wearing earplugs can lead to a better sleep, generally, I find.

I've been living with my girlfriend for a couple of years now. I just flop across the whole bed whether she's there or not. You get used to it. If you're like me and you retain heat poorly, having a girl in the bed next to you has obvious warming advantages. If she'll do other magic tricks too, so much the better.

'I had this problem , mainly because I could push her to her side of the bed , dooze off and then wake up and shes right beside me.. could be because shes so close to you, the presence of someone else might be it?'
