Deleting files of IPod mini

My GF has an iPod mini and iTunes version 7.0.2.16 on Windows XP. This version of iTunes doesn't appear to be backward compatable with the mini. How do I manually delete files from the player? The help file tells me to select 'Manually manage files' but that option isn't where it says it should be. I've been searching the…

Try using mediamonkey, a media organisation programme which is compatible with the ipod. That may solve your problem.
