Is anybody else here into the Ghoulies films, the supposed Gremlins rip off (not true. Ghoulies was in production before Gremlins).

I'm finding it hard to rent any of them. Any specialist shops in Dublin that might have them? Especially the 3rd one. Really don't want to pay e25 for it on play.com.

Yeah i remember them from when i was younger and going through my gremlins/critters/creature-feature phase. I was pretty freaked out by the ghoulies movies, made sitting on the toilet quite a disturbing experience for me for quite a while as a kid!!! Never really see them available anywhere, thats true, and a lot of people i know have never heard of them (i guess i was just a slightly more messed up kid than most :D )

I bought the first two in a double pack in xtravision for €10 a month or two ago.

Anyway, although the ghoulies film are fairly fun (I havent watched 2 in years might do tonight), I dont really think they stood the test of time too well. The dialogue is fairly weak and the special effects are pretty dire, however this doesnt stop the films from being enjoyable, you just have to like this genre !
(All above points based on ghoulies 1)

Except for Critters 4, I like to pretend that one doesnt exist. Love the other three though (second one is hilarious).

The 80's were the business for that sort of film. Ghoulies, Gremlins, Critters and Munchies.

finally someone who knows of this movie. I was beginning to think i dreamt that it ever existed because i've never come across anyone else who has seen it. Twas pretty dire, but hey, they were all great when i was a kid

The other movie i saw years ago that no-one seems to have is called Leviathon, twas kinda like a low budget version of Alien, set underwater. I enjoyed it, anyway....
