    Hey,

Myself and my gf have left it a bit late to book a holiday. We have been to a few travel agents and have had a look online, but Easter week is booked out everywhere. Should we just forget about getting somewhere warm for that week?

I was even thinking of having my bags packed and wait for a last minute deal. How would I garauntee I could get a last minute deal? Maybe someone could help us, we dont want the holiday to cost the earth. Seems like we need to 'join the club' as hundreds others are in the same boat.

I have put together my own break using scheduled airlines and an apartment in tenerife in june for 3 people for under a grand.

Using your dates, around about, going out on the monday 9th april to tenerife with ryanair and coming back on the following sunday 15 april, you can have flights for about 550 euro including taxes. Then if you get an apartment you should be able to do it for under a grand. The apartment i got for june is at http://www.holidaylettings.co.uk/rentals/los-cristianos/14334

It is about as luxury as you will get, dishwasher, dvd player, widescreen tv with sky.....
This is owned by a guy called Tom from rathfarnham, here in dublin, I rang him up directly and he gave me a brilliant deal, much better than on the site. Give him a ring and see what he has to say, according to the availability calendar on the site it is vacant for those dates. His mobile number is on the site.

Just a couple of words of warning though. You can go for earlier flights but the price rockets. Aer Lingus fly into tenerife south but they wanted over a grand when I checked your dates. Ryanair fly to tenerife north airport so you will have to get a cab or a bus and the cost of that, I am not sure.

Let us know how you get on.

    Jeff

No luck again today. Went to Budget Travel - they checked 10 different companies (ie Sunworld etc) and nothing!

Was thinking of booking flights and hotel seperately. Can someone help find a hotel in the Canaries that has availability either 7 - 8 April? Im having no luck. Will keep looking. Im just used to searching for package deals - booking flights and hotel seperately is new to me.

8th April, the Algarve (have not been but heard Montechero is good) or Fuerteventura in the Canaries(b&b), 535 and 549 each. A lot of people go away with their kids for Easter at this time, so i think anything cheap is out of the question.

I checked this. On the site it says 'availability - book online or ring with reference number'.
I rang and they said that there is nothing available for that week. She said sometimes the site does not get updated. I really had my hopes up on that one. Will need to keep trying.
