How do you setup your OS so that when you highlight a file and click on delete that it sends the file to the trash?

also, when in photoshop and when you have some area selected with the magic wand, which key do you press to delete that selection?

    Cheers

Dunno how to change what keys do but just in case you dont already know, you can use the apple key+delete to move a file to trash

Apple delete and for Photoshop it's either delete or 'del', I can't remember which one, only one, works.

I can only see on key called delete on my keyboard, no del key
to move the file into the bin i tried apple + delete but it didn't work. I then tried a few combos and apple + <-- seemed to work (i presume that's backspace)

    cheers guys

    It's the same key.
Using windows, I was used to pressing the delete key to clear the selected area in photoshop, I was surprised to find that the delete key on the Mac keyboard didn't work.

For most other applications though, it's Apple-Backspace to move an item to the trash.

There is a difference between the delete key and the backspace key - when most people say "delete" they generally mean "backspace", the large key to the top right on the keyboard.
The delete key is a completely different key.
