    Hi,

I tried google but no joy.
Does Outlook 2000 have an autocomplete email address function?

As in when you type the first few letters of an email it will have a dropdown list of previously used addresses.

    Thanks.

The auto complete function is usuall turned on by default. Were addresses actually used previously as this is the only time that Outlook will save them in this list?

If its turned off go to Tolls=>options=>preferences=>Email Options=>Advanced Email Options.

Ensure that the "Suggest names whil completing to, cc and bcc fields" is ticked.

Do you have a problem with Outlook 2002/2003's autocomplete cache not working, but 'Suggest names while completing to To, CC, BCC fields' is enabled in Tools, Options, Preferences, E-mail Options, Advanced?
Try renaming the *.NK2 file for your profile (C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook) and restart Outlook. Outlook will create a new one for you.
    Notes:
You can rename or delete the NK2 file if you want to get rid of all addresses in your autocomplete file.
Outlook 2000/98 doesn't offer autocomplete, only autoresolution. Autoresolution information is stored in a file with the extension 'nick'. You can delete it to reset your autoresolution data.

    Google found the above...

Is autoresolution the same as Autocomplete then?
I'm kinda confused with that sentence.

Auto resolution is not the same thing. This means you can type the alias of a recipient, and Outlook will look at your address book, or exchange GAL etc and will match the alias to the correct user.

The autocomplete isn't available in Outlook 2000 as far as I know.
