We're heading for France on June 30th and plan to spend the first few days in the Paris region. More than likely, we'll spend the last week at Ty-Naden in Brittany.

So we have a week or 10 days in between to fill, and we're thinking the Vendee region. Can anyone please recommend a nice site in the St. Jean / Les Sables area? We have a motorhome, so don't need accommodation. I have the Keycamp & Canvas brochures in front of me, but they're only succeeding in confusing me! Ideally we'd like somewhere within walking distance of the beach or town.

    Thanks in advance!

The "les Castles" http://www.les-castels.com/ are fantastic and a very high standard. St Hilliere de Rez is lovely and we stayed in Les Ecureuils. So impressed with it we tried another Les Euureuils in Jard sur Mer http://www.camping-ecureuils.com/ which was also fantastic. Lovely beech and harbour, nice shops all within a short walk.
What to do? There is a motor museum not far from there but cant remember whats its called.
Puy de Fou http://www.puydufou.com/fr/ is a super attraction and well worth a day or two. Medival themepark with lots to do and see. Bring your walking shoes..... we stayed for the night at "La Breteche" which was basic but very reasonable and a nice public pool next door...

I have stayed at Les Ecureils (in a mobile home). it was nice and you just crossed the road and walked through the dunes to get to a lovely beach. And it wasn't overly busy liek St. Jean de Monts etc etc.

Having checked out the website, it looks like we'll book Les Ecureils (St Hilliere de Riez). Thanks for the advice. I think it's the "short walk" to the beach / shops / etc. that swung it for us! :)
