So with PS3 out now, does anyone know what stores are stocking Blu-ray movies?

I'm a bit sick at the moment so I can't go out myself and have a look around..I'd be curious to hear if people have seen them in any stores. I have a US PS3, but I'd like to pick up some region-free discs locally (like Casino Royale).

ive seen a few in shops like hmv, virgin and gamespot but for both selection and price you would be better off buying online

i picked up a few in gamestop on henry street for €17.99 and €21.99 , stay away from hmv though , great selection but very pricey .

35 euro? Yikes. Sendit.co.uk has Casino Royale for the same price as the DVD, with free delivery.

Hopefully retailer prices will come down, as I do like the convenience of picking stuff up from a store.

    Thanks for the info!

edit - might have a look in Gamestop then, cheers clover.

 €17.99 ? That's v.good. Gamestop in Tralee had Crank or some other piece of crap for €27.99

we'll have to wait for the most likely Star Wars and LOTR's releases before blu-ray will truly kick off, current release stable is weak, I mean Casino Royale was crap

Just out of interest, are these shops also selling hd-dvd's? And if they are, are the more or less expensive?

HMV definately is selling HD DVDs, but at the same STUUUUPID prices as Blu-Ray & same crap selection. The HD DVD player for the XBox 360 is region free so at 200 Euro its a good deal. I can get HD DVDs at $16 in the US. & thats below Irish threshold for import duty too... so now worries.

As long as your item doesnt ship via a courier your usually safe anyway. I bought 8 HD-DVD's from amazon just before xmas all from the same markeplace seller and they all came and in the post together and I still never got caught for tax.

Only time I've ever been caught for taxes is if its UPS / FedEx / DHL that are the delivery.

Can second Gamestop if you don't want to go online. Visited the one in the Parkway SC, and their select was much better than the HMV in Limerick, the Virgin in the Crescent and Xtra Vision Parkway. Much cheaper too, with most films being 17.99.

Not entirely true. A heck of alot of the Blu Ray movies are actually region free, but most newer titles aren't.

    If you want a list

Xtravision are renting them in Dublin and Thurles. I presumed they were renting everywhere else too. They have about twelve movies, as far as I can tell.
