You may obtain a copy of this form by clicking at the link below:

Nothing all that unusual to be honest. Extra verification is required from time to time, especially when you are booking from outside the sites home country, with a payment card issued outside that country and/or when booking to certain destinations.

If you are in Ireland you should have used ebookers.ie instead of ebookers.com

I booked a flight to Boston 2 weeks ago with ebookers.ie and got the same but being a cautious type i didn't fill it in, i then got a phone call from some Indian sounding man who was quite rude about it until i put him in his place, i told him his attitude was a disgrace, and if this is the way ebookers treat their customers then i wouldn't be using them again, he then proceeded to grovel and apologise

I would be very suspicious of that. It just looks weird. First thing in the morning ring ebookers in Dublin, I think they are in the Irish Life Mall in Abbey St and ask to speak to customer services. Get the name of the person you are speaking to and explain you are suspicious, if they confirm to you that is their securtiy procedures, then fine, but otherwise, tell then to feck off. Its a scam. Dublin should be able to confirm the policy even though it is london looking for it.

I would be very suspicious of that.

    Other than gut feeling, why?

It's actually quite a common practice to look for further proof of identity in situations like the above, in order for the company to protect themselves.

But by all means the OP should double check if he's not sure, but I wouldn't go around bandying words like "scam" around.

I called ebooker in Dublin and they transfer the call to UK office (I got the email from UK office) and they confirm that request

I would use an Irish provider next time. Have heard from ex clients of Ebookers of very poor customer service.
There should be no need to get involved with Ebookers Uk if the booking was made on Ebookers.ie. Probably their accounting function is located in the UK or
    maybe some outpost in India.

I say it is suspicious because I have used ebookers in the past. In the last 5 years I have booked multiple online trips to places like Tenerife - twice, New York about 4 times, poland in march and numerous uk destinations. Not once have I ever heard of this.

That is why I think it is suspicious....

But as shown by the later post. It is ok and just an extra security feature. That can only be a good thing.

I agree with the above, I also used Ebookers and paid by credit card and was asked for no such information.

I believe a signifigant proportion of their back-office function is based in India
I also used Ebookers and paid by credit card and was asked for no such information.

I'm sure you and hundreds of others have and not been asked - that isn't the point though. Hundreds of transactions go through everyday without problem. That doesn't mean that all do, and therefore you cannot claim something isn't right just because it hasn't happened to you.

It's NOT suspicious in the least. It's an anti-fraud measure used by various different companies to verify the identity of a remote customer. As you can see, it's already been verified as a legitimate request by ebookers, when the OP called them back.

It's good to be aware of potential information security issues these days, but on the flip side too many people are more than willing to claim the sky is falling when it isn't.
