Went up to the botanic gardens today to try my hand at their orchid collection..... shock horror, they've all been trimmed  My favourite the venus fly trap and his friends have been moved out as well

But as it was a gorgeous day, strolled around and did get this one:

    white-blossom-thumb.jpg

(click for the 1.2Mb version) no processing other than a slight crop and a small white balance adjustment. The crop was necesarry as there were smudges on the lens I didnt notice

PS my other lenses are jealous of the 100mm macro one, it never leaves my camera!

PPS maybe we should have a macro meet someday :p

    yah, 1000th post!

Now that that's off my chest.
Cool shot, you don't see many macros against the blue sky.

I also went to the Botanic Gardens the other day and nearly
every photo I took looked like that.

I thought i had at least one section of each flower focused
    in the viewfinder but no!
I think maybe I should have used the tripod ?

It's a little on the soft side but well composed and the retention of detail is excellent, which is very difficult with a white subject being directly lit by sunlight.
