Firmware upgrade

Lads none of my titles... even the ones on the list that Sony launched are workin on my PS3. I have read that you have to have firmware at least up to Version 1.6 but does anyone know how I go about doing this as, to be fair... it's a great machine but there is **** all games out at the moment and I've little or nothing to play one player and can't play Pro Evo. Any help would be hugely appreciated.

System update on the PS3. If you dont have broadband you'll have to ring sony and ask them to send you the upgrade on a disc.

If your hooked up to b/band you have to do a Network Update.
If your not hooked up you can get a sysyem update from Sony Customer services.

i got it that way way better on 56k if the network update fail you need to start again and on 56 104mb is just better , have to put the file in a folder name update and that in one name ps3.

When I set up my PS3, I was prompted to download it, well..... I think so anyway. It was soo long ago lol.

cool, just downloaded it now. It is easy to copy the file from the usb stick to the ps3?

On the USB stick make a folder called PS3. Inside that make another folder called UPDATE and put the file in there. When you select system update you choose the option for from media rather than internet and magic the PS3 finds it.
