The Zen Plus 4GB is currently mispriced in Power City. It says €159.99 on the shelf but the price at the till is €129.99. This was verified in Power City Drogehda about an hour ago and it's also the same on the website.

Cheers for the info. I'm tempted but the 15 hour battery is a bit of a sticking point. A lot of people report "freezing" of varying severity. Here's a link to Amazon's review pages for this product. [Linky]

Be wary of glowing reviews from customers who have only reviewed the one product.

Cheers penexpers; picked up one yesterday.

if anyone does get one, check out Creative's website one for a free Zen V Armband. [Linky] Or you can pick up the application form in-store.

I'd recommend keeping your receipt safe as some people have had problems with the players freezing/breaking down.

Peats in Newbridge had these the other day for €129 as well. Also the 4gb Zen V was there for €99.

Lets hope its not too unstable as I picked one up as a present for someone.

Weird... the Peats website is all over the shop with its pricing! [Linky]

... can't see many opting for the 2gb model at €149.

Just wanted to bump this. I bought one today at Powercity Fonthill - it was marked at €129.95 and was right next to the 2GB version priced at 124.95 :D

It's a great piece of kit and a steal at this price. Creative are also giving away a free arm band if you buy one of these before 31/05/07.

So, buying a Creative media player, it's kinda like a poor man's Russian roulette!?!

...and by "poor" I mean "less insane". :D

I've had a Zen Xtra 40GB for two years with no problems and now I've just bought the wife a Vision M and a V plus for myself.

Personally I would buy a Creative product before any of it's competitors' offerings... and I'm well familiar with ipods as I have one in my car wired up to the steering controller.

    Cheers
    Mike

Sorry to drag up an old thread but with regards to the free offers that Creative do, the most recent being a free TravelSound P30 can someone tell me what do they mean by "attach the original barcode"?

Do they mean a photocopy or do you actually have to cut it out from the box?

I cut it from the box... don't think a photocopy will do. I'd imagine it's to prevent people from getting free products every time they do a promotion.

Take note of the numbers on the barcode before you send it off if it makes you feel better... that's what I did. :)

    Sugarman,

Sorry to hear you had such bad luck with the Creative products you experienced.

I have owned a Zen Micro 4GB, Zen V M 30GB and now Zen V M 60GB compact. I can honestly say I would never be without it. I had one friend who had a problem with broken headphones (he broke them) and the customer support at Creative was second to none.

I am an avid anti-IPod man as I see it as a classic marketing ploy to lure the masses who know little about the lack of quality of these players other than the fashionable cases they come in. As an example check this out: http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=31530 - the video quality of Creative's player is far superior!

    Creative create sound.

Apple create iTunes (to restrict your freedom to do what you want with your music) !
